Escort Service

When we moved to our new house we had to get a new phone number (duh). No sooner had we got our new phone number than we started getting calls for someone named Lisa. Little did we know the saga that was beginning. We continued getting calls for Lisa until one day a guy called for her. I explained he had the wrong number and that this number was new so maybe Lisa was the last person who had this number. We hung up and a few seconds later he called again. "I just wanted to let you know that this number is listed online under an escort service," he said. Wow! Nate and I contemplated changing our number at that time, but soon the calls seemed to taper off and we forgot about good ol' Lisa. Until this week.

Sunday night we returned from a week long vacation to find 6 messages on our answering machine. One was a hang up, another was my friend calling, and the other 4 were for Lisa. One was some guy from Orange County wondering if whe was available that night! So now we're seriously considering changing our phone number!

This morning I was relaying this story to my friend over the phone and she said,"have you googled the phone number?" I said I had, but found nothing. She tried it one more time and sure enough our phone number is listed under the National Escort Directory for some lady named Lisa. Yuck!! A while after talking to my friend she calls back to let me know more about this gal. She had been telling another friend about this story and her friend asked if we'd looked her up in the phone book. (I knew her last name from a credit card company that had called looking for her). They found her! She lives a few streets over from me!

So that is my excitment for today. I'm not sure if I should go knock on her door and see if she has a problem remembering her own phone number (I would know all about that..see my last blog!) or send her an email telling her to change her contact number to the right one and not my home number!
