Adventures in Potty Training
For those of you who don't know, I've practiced "infant potty training" (better known as elimination communication) with Adelaide since she was about 4 months old. So the next phase is to move from "catching" her eliminations to her beginning to communicate that she has to go. Today has been the longest day sans-diaper, so far. We've tried going diaper free before, but she wasn't ready and just played in her "puddles" whenever accidents occured. And so far she's done great! The one accident I thought she had wasn't an accident at all. She had sat on her potty on her own and when I asked her if she wanted me to pull her pants down she said,"no." Then a few mintues later I found the back of her pants wet and pee in her potty chair! Technically she didn't pee her pants, she just peed through her pants. And up until 5 minutes ago we had a perfect record. She got to busy playing and against my intuition I let her keep playing. Oops! But I'd say we're doing pretty good for the first day of real potty training.
