Not for the faint of heart...or stomach...
This past week we went up to Seattle, Washington to visit Mars Hill Church. We went to church on Sunday morning and Nate attended the worship conference held there on Monday and Tuesday the 17th and 18th. We spent the rest of the time getting to know people and learning the cues my daughter gives right before she pukes. Yes, that's right, Adelaide got the flu on our vacation. Even though she was sick we managed to have a good time. We even visited the Seattle Zoo and had a great day, until Adelaide stole the show with her amazing abdominal pyrotechnics. That was our last day in Seattle, so you could say we left Seattle with a bad taste in our mouth...or at least Adelaide did. We finished the remainder of our trip on Thursday by stopping in Grants Pass, Oregon to visit family and rest up for more driving on Friday. We arrived home Friday afternoon around 3pm and it seemed that all was well and good, and that Adelaide was good and well. Not so. Not only was she still sick, but the rest of the family got it too.
Nate and I are feeling better and he's planning to go to work tomorrow. Adelaide on the other hand is going for a world record. She has successfully puked everyday since last Monday. We thought today might be the day to change things. It wasn't. We took her to the Doctor just to make sure she didn't have some freak disease or something and she proved her illness by spilling her guts to the Dr, literally. I was a bit embarrassed, but happy to let someone else clean up the mess this time. Of course the Doctor informed us there was nothing to do but "wait it out" and "call if it gets worse." I'm afraid to ask what could be worse.
For now we will continue to hide out at home consuming large amounts of saltines, Propel, chicken noodle soup, and ice cream. Oh, the ice cream is for me-not Adelaide.
Here are some photos from our trip to lighten things up.
