Seattle: Vivace, Value Village and Presse-Oh My!
If any of you read my Hubby's blog you already know that we are in Seattle for the week. He is attending a conference at Mars Hill Church and while he's busy there I've been trying to make the most of my time in the big city.
We are staying smack dab in the middle of downtown. Not only can I see Qwest stadium from the roof of our building, but I could probably hit it if I threw a rock or other such thing at it. I am in walking distance from so many cool spots! I hope to hit a few while I'm here. The spot at the top of my "walk-to" list is: Pike's Place Market. I only wish I brought my Rachel Ray magazine featuring Seattle. I can't wait for my kids to see a fish go flying through air right before we by it, or to smell all the fresh flowers and fruit. I know it probably won't be as big as it can be since its not peak season, but I don't think I'll be let down.

Today I made a trip with a friend to Value Village, a wonderful thrift store I discovered on my last trip to Seattle. They have 99c Mondays where every tag of a selected color is, well you guessed it, only 99c!! Today's 99c color was yellow. I found a bunch of yellow tag items and even splurged on a peasant top for $4.99. I know, I went wild. I really should reign myself in when it comes to shopping!
After wearing ourselves out trying to keep the kids in line while I searched for tags of a certain hue, we headed out to find lunch. I let said friend lead me to a yummy French cafe for as-close-as-you-can-get-to authentic French style food. Café Presse had a neat story starting with their owner training as a chef in Paris. The food was yummy and it was wonderful to walk away from the table feeling satisfied, full and content but strangely not
"stuffed" as we Americans tend to feel after meals.
After all that I was ready to relax and have a cup of coffee back at Vivace, but it was not to be had. My kids were in desperate need of a nap. And when I say desperate I mean desperate! My little guy normally naps for an hour around 11am and it was already almost 1 by the time we got back to the car. He was sacked out when we got back to the flat and continued to sleep until 4 o'clock this afternoon!! I'm hoping to get a chance to relax at Vivace soon. They make coffee taste the way coffee is supposed to taste. No sugar, no chocolate, no sprinkles, just pure unadulterated coffee. And now I have to stop before I short out the keyboard with all my salivating.

And I was worried you would be stuck in some motel room with the kids while hubby was off enjoying some wonderful conference! Ha! Of course I'm just teasing. Sounds like a great time. Do you think you could bottle up some of that ridiculously rich coffee you spoke of and bring it on home to your favorite MIL???? MMMM. I can almost taste it. Love & kisses to all of you.
