"He will choke!"
"Don't give him money! He will choke!"
"Don't give him that plastic bag, he will choke."
"Do NOT give your brother raisins, he will choke!"
"Don't let him play with the beads, he'll choke."
"No, he can't play the game with you, he will choke."
It is not yet noon and I've been hard at work saving my baby from being choked by his sister's offerings of kindness. She has also played log-rolling with him, rolling him half-way across the living room floor, until I distracted her with vitamins. Honestly, I felt like distracting her bottom from comfort, but since he kind of likes that game I let it slide.
*side note*
I just had to make her take a plastic bag away from him...again. Am I a bad mother?
I feel like I spent Adelaide's first year protecting her from other people, germs and animals. So far I've spent Hugh's first 5-months protecting him from his sister. I know that she's not trying kill him, but sometimes it feels like it. I just have to remember that she is 2 and she doesn't quite understand her strengths and the effect they have on him. Until then she does understand this important life-skill, he has me to watch out for him; although, sometimes I feel as though I'm not the most qualified person for this job.

i have an older sister and from my experience, she is trying to kill him, or at least exercise her power over him. frightening memories surfacing... must repress...
i mean, it's nothing, she just wants to play. never a dull moment with that girl.
