Too Much Soap

Our dishwasher hasn't been doing its job lately, so I called a repairman. I explained our problem and he came out to have a look. After about 20 minutes of tinkering around under my dishwasher he told me my problem. Too much soap. He said my dishwasher was working fine but that I was using too much detergent to wash the dishes. These seemed very strange to me. Kind of like a song I heard once..."Too Much Fun." Too much soap?? What does that mean? So I followed his advice and used less soap. Tonight I checked, mid-wash, like the repairman told me to do and the suds were at an acceptable level. So the real test came when I checked the dishes after the whole cycle was finished. Viola! Clean dishes. Finally my dishwasher is living up to its name. And all this time I'd been blaming it on Rio Dell water...what was I thinking!!
